Gardening, maths and children? It sounds like an unholy combination in the real world, but a new iPad app developed by a team at the University of California, Berkeley (translation: tech central) makes it a compelling blend.
Here’s the idea behind Grow Your Garden HD: kids have to feed their flowers the right amount of water from virtual watering cans to ensure they flourish. There are 12 flowers to be unlocked in four different parts of the garden, with a game-like structure of 30 levels to keep your children interested.
The developers promise that the educational element is subtly done, with addition and subtraction introduced with a “gradual” learning curve. It looks good, and at £1.49 the app won’t break the bank.
