On one level, Pixel and Parker is fairly standard in terms of iOS storybook-apps.
It’s about a boy called Parker searching for his missing cat, with developer Spinlight Studio promising a tale “based on the value of friendship”. That means illustration, animation and music, with attractive graphics and bold text.
The twist… Well, it’s literally a twist. There’s a virtual “game spinner” that you twist to determine what happens next in the story, with 30 activities as possible outcomes. The idea being that the story is different every time you read it.
It’s a nice idea, as is the way you can dress Parker in different t-shirts – a small feature, but one that we think children will be drawn to.
Pixel and Parker costs £1.49 on the App Store, and is a universal app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
