Geez Keyboard brings native Geez script typing to your computer, letting you write in your language without rooting or special setup. The app supports both Geez and English, with word suggestions and auto-completion drawn from your personal dictionary: features that speed up typing for anyone learning the script or working across both languages regularly.
Running Geez Keyboard on PC expands how you work with Geez text across desktop applications. The keyboard integrates smoothly into your everyday typing workflow, whether you're composing emails, editing documents, or messaging while other windows stay open.
Core Typing Features
Geez Keyboard is built around a swipe-enabled input system paired with smart suggestions. Here's how a typical typing session unfolds:
- Select Geez Keyboard as your active input method from your system settings.
- Begin typing in any application: the keyboard displays word suggestions from your user dictionary as you write.
- Choose suggested words to speed up entry, or continue typing manually if you prefer.
- Use auto-completion to finish longer words automatically, saving keystrokes.
- Switch between Geez and English modes by tapping the language toggle.
- Add new words to your dictionary manually or let the app store them automatically for future suggestions.
Dictionary and Personalization
The user dictionary is central to Geez Keyboard's efficiency. You can edit or delete stored words at any time, and the dictionary language always matches your current keyboard mode. For English users, auto-capitalization handles sentence structure automatically. Ethiopic alphabets are already capitalized by design, so no extra adjustment is needed when writing in Geez.
Designed for Geez Input Tool Users
Geez Keyboard works well as an Amharic keyboard for desktop and Geez input on one computer, staying signed in across sessions. The tablet-optimized interface adapts to different screen sizes, and voice input for English (though Geez voice input isn't yet supported by Google) adds flexibility if you're typing in mixed languages. No rooting required: installation is straightforward on any Android-powered device you connect to your PC setup.
Select an Android emulator:  There are many free and paid Android emulators available for PC and MAC, few of the popular ones are Bluestacks, Andy OS, Nox, MeMu and there are more you can find from Google.
Compatibility:  Before downloading them take a look at the minimum system requirements to install the emulator on your PC.
For example,  BlueStacks requires OS: Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows XP SP3 (32-bit only), Mac OS Sierra(10.12), High Sierra (10.13) and Mojave(10.14), 2-4GB of RAM, 4GB of disk space for storing Android apps/games, updated graphics drivers.
Finally, download and install the emulator which will work well with your PC's hardware/software.
