About Apps Playground

Apps Playground is a UK-based site that helps readers find the best apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows PC. We launched in September 2010, a few months after the first iPad went on sale, when it became clear that families needed a trustworthy guide to the flood of new apps and games arriving every week.

Over the years Apps Playground has been read by more than 1.2 million people, peaking at around 60,000 readers a month. Our approach has always been simple: we cover the apps we think are genuinely interesting and useful, and we have never charged developers for a review or for coverage.

Who we are

Apps Playground was started in 2010 by a small UK team of technology journalists and parents who wanted a trustworthy guide to the apps their own families were using. The site has changed hands since then, and the people who built it are no longer involved.

Today the Apps Playground Editorial Team carries on that work — researching, installing and writing up step-by-step guides to the apps people are searching for, including how to run popular Android apps on a Windows PC or Mac. Every guide is checked against the app's official listing before it is published.
