Family members who manage shared photo collections benefit from running Aura Frame on a desktop or laptop where you can upload, organize, and invite contributors without switching devices constantly. The app lets you connect your Aura smart frame to WiFi, curate which photos and folders appear on the display, and manage who shares images with your frame: all from a single, persistent workspace. When you're adding vacation memories or removing photos that didn't work out, a computer setup keeps your frame's library in sync across all contributors.
Aura Frame is a companion app for a smart picture frame that turns family photos into a shared, cloud-backed display, setting it apart from the angelic photo frame application approach of layering spiritual overlays onto portraits. On your PC, the app handles the core tasks: connecting your frame to your home network, selecting and uploading photos from your device or folders, inviting family and friends to contribute their own images, and managing which pictures appear on the physical frame.
Setting Up and Uploading Photos
Getting Aura Frame running on your computer gives you a comfortable workspace for the upload workflow. You can browse and select photos from your local folders, then push them to your frame without the friction of mobile photography. The app responds well to keyboard and mouse input, making batch uploads and photo management faster than handling them one at a time on a phone. Users report the upload experience is straightforward once you settle into a rhythm: drag in your photos, confirm, and they sync to your frame.
Inviting Family to Share
One of the core strengths of Aura Frame is support for invite relatives and close friends to add their own photos to your frame. When you install Aura Frame on a Windows PC or Mac, you have a central hub to manage who can contribute and monitor the photos flowing in from your group. Grandparents and parents consistently mention the joy of seeing candid family moments appear on their frame as relatives upload new pictures: birthdays, vacations, and everyday events all land in one shared space.
Organizing and Managing Your Frame Library
Running Aura Frame on PC gives you a persistent place to keep your photo collection tidy. The app lets you remove photos that didn't turn out, organize which folders feed into your frame, and adjust what gets displayed. This picture frame tool works best when you maintain it regularly: users find that browsing and curating on a larger screen, with a real keyboard, makes it simpler to keep your frame feeling fresh. The cloud backup means your selections stay safe, and family members can see the updates on the physical frame right away.
Frame Features and Display Options
Aura Frame displays both still photos and video clips, and the hardware itself includes motion and light sensors so the frame wakes up when someone walks past, features that set it apart from photo frame cloud service options built around repurposed tablets. This means your uploaded photos come to life in your home without you having to touch the device. From your computer, you control what reaches the frame, and everyone who contributes sees their photos appear within the shared collection. The experience of watching family memories rotate on a modern smart display, fed by people across multiple households, creates a living archive in your living room.

FAQ
Can I use Aura Frame on my computer instead of just the mobile app?
Yes. Aura Frame for computer lets you manage your photo frame from a desktop or laptop. You can upload, organize, and invite contributors from your PC, which often feels more natural when you're already at your desk working or browsing. The app syncs everything to your frame and to all family members you've invited.
How do I add photos to my frame from my PC?
Open Aura Frame on your computer, sign in, and select the photos or folders you want to display. You can browse your local storage, pick the images you prefer, and upload them in batches. The app then pushes those photos to your physical frame via WiFi.
Can multiple family members add photos at the same time?
Yes. You invite family and friends through the app, and they can contribute their own photos whenever they want. Everyone sees the shared collection on the frame. This works smoothly whether people are uploading from phones or computers.
What happens if I upload too many photos at once?
Some users have experienced slowness or crashes when uploading very large batches in one session. Uploading photos in smaller groups and allowing time between uploads tends to work more reliably. If you're working with a large photo library, spacing out your uploads keeps the process stable.
Can I edit photos or add effects in Aura Frame?
The app focuses on photo selection and organization rather than editing. You cannot apply filters, add text, or create transitions within Aura Frame itself. Photo editing happens before upload: prepare your images in another tool, then bring the finished versions into your frame.
Is there a video option?
The Aura Frame hardware supports video playback, and you can upload video clips through the app. However, you'll need to manage videos from your computer or phone; the app doesn't include video editing features.
