eHomeLife is a home automation control app that lets you manage smart plugs and connected devices from your computer. Running it on PC keeps you signed in on a single machine where you can monitor and command your devices without hunting for your phone: useful when you're already at your desk or working from home. The app handles remote on/off switching, scheduling, and device status checks from anywhere on your network.

eHomeLife on PC puts smart device management within reach of your everyday workflow. When you're managing plugs, garage door openers, or other Meross-compatible hardware, installing eHomeLife for Windows gives you a persistent control center that stays open alongside email, browsers, and other desktop apps. This guide covers what the app does, how to set it up, and what to expect from the current version.

Core Controls and Scheduling

The app centers on three main tasks: turning devices on and off remotely, setting up schedules so devices act automatically, and checking whether each device is currently active. You can issue commands from anywhere your internet connection reaches, which matters if you need to shut off a device while away from home. The scheduling system lets you create recurring on/off cycles and auto-off rules so devices don't drain power or run unattended.

Smart Home Control on Your Desktop

Keeping eHomeLife open on your PC means you stay in one place to manage your connected hardware. Unlike checking your phone between tasks, you have the app's controls visible on a larger screen where you can read device names and status clearly. The desktop setup works well with Google Home integration and keeps you informed about device changes without constantly switching apps.

What to Know Before Installing

Recent updates have created stability issues for many users. Here's what you should expect:

  • Devices may not display on first load and require a screen refresh to appear briefly
  • The app occasionally logs out without warning, stopping notifications from reaching you
  • Remote access outside your home network has become unreliable for some users in recent builds
  • Password recovery screens may not respond to taps, preventing account access if you lose your login
  • Notifications for door open/close events have stopped working for some installations

Meross App vs. eHomeLife

eHomeLife was the original control interface for Meross smart plugs and devices, but the developer has since released the Meross app as the primary platform. If you own current-generation Meross hardware, that newer app may offer better compatibility and active maintenance. eHomeLife remains functional for older devices in many cases, but new users and those upgrading hardware who want broader smart home automation coverage should check whether the Meross app suits their setup first.

How to Download and Install eHomeLife for PC or MAC:

Select an Android emulator:  There are many free and paid Android emulators available for PC and MAC, few of the popular ones are Bluestacks, Andy OS, Nox, MeMu and there are more you can find from Google.

Compatibility:  Before downloading them take a look at the minimum system requirements to install the emulator on your PC.

For example,  BlueStacks requires OS: Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows XP SP3 (32-bit only), Mac OS Sierra(10.12), High Sierra (10.13) and Mojave(10.14), 2-4GB of RAM, 4GB of disk space for storing Android apps/games, updated graphics drivers.

Finally, download and install the emulator which will work well with your PC's hardware/software.

  1. Open the emulator software from the start menu or desktop shortcut in your PC.
  2. Associate or set up your Google account with the emulator.
  3. You can either install the app from Google PlayStore inside the emulator or download eHomeLife APK file and open the APK file with the emulator or drag the file into the emulator window to install eHomeLife for PC.

You can follow above instructions to install eHomeLife for PC with any of the Android emulators available.

FAQ

Can I use eHomeLife to control devices when I'm away from home?

The app aims to let you manage devices from anywhere, but recent updates have broken remote access for some users: the app now works reliably only when you're connected to your home network. If remote control is essential to your setup, test the app carefully before relying on it.

Why does eHomeLife stop showing my devices after I open it?

This is a widespread issue following the July 2025 update. Devices often disappear from the home screen, though a pull-down refresh may show them temporarily. The app recognizes your devices exist, but they fail to display consistently. Reinstalling or re-adding devices has not resolved the problem for most users.

Will eHomeLife work with my Meross smart devices?

eHomeLife was built to control Meross plugs and compatible hardware, and it still communicates with many devices. However, the Meross app is now the officially supported platform. If you're starting fresh, the Meross app is a safer choice; eHomeLife works best for users with older device setups.

Do I need to stay in the app for notifications to work?

Notifications should arrive even when the app is closed, but recent updates have silenced alerts for many users. Additionally, the app occasionally logs you out without notice, which stops all notifications from being sent to your device.

Can I recover my account if I forget my password?

The password recovery screen has a text entry field that doesn't respond to taps, making it impossible to type your email address and reset your credentials. If you're logged out, you may be unable to regain access until this issue is fixed in a future update.
