Version 19.1.0 · · 93.8 MB

Planning a multi-leg trip across Norway while sitting at your desk becomes simpler when Entur - Journey Planner runs on a full computer screen. The app consolidates bus, train, metro, boat, and airplane schedules into one interface, eliminating the need to juggle a dozen regional operator apps just to book a single journey. On a desktop, you can compare itineraries side-by-side, reference travel details in a larger window, and keep your confirmation visible while managing other tasks: a significant advantage over checking tickets repeatedly on a phone during actual travel.
Entur - Journey Planner unifies Norway's fractured public transport system, letting you search and book across providers without switching between apps. Running it on PC amplifies this convenience: you gain a larger workspace to review schedules, real-time updates, and fare options before you leave home or while you coordinate travel logistics on the same machine.
How Entur Covers Your Route Options
The app searches by your location and shows door-to-door suggestions using every major transport mode. When you enter a destination, Entur returns multiple itineraries with departure times, arrival times, total journey length, line numbers, operator names, and a full list of intermediate stops. You can filter results to prefer or exclude specific transport types: useful if you want to avoid certain operators or favor faster connections. On a PC, you can keep a search result open in one window and open another search tab to compare alternative routes without losing your first choice.
Real-Time Tracking and Adaptive Content
The app pulls real-time delay information where available, so you know if a train or bus is running late before you leave. It learns your travel patterns and highlights departures and favorite stops relevant to your habits. Reviews note that the real-time feature helps users stay informed, though data quality depends on each operator's reporting. Viewing this information on a larger screen makes it easier to spot updates at a glance during your planning session.
Core Features at a Glance
Entur - Journey Planner delivers the following capabilities:
- Search by location to find nearby stops and correct departure points
- View departure and arrival times, plus travel duration for each route
- Check operator info and line numbers for all legs of your journey
- See the full list of intermediate stops before you board
- Filter transport types to match your preferences and constraints
- Access real-time delay alerts where operators provide them
Ticket Purchase and Integration Gaps
Entur now sells tickets for some public transport providers and aims eventually to let you book across multiple operators in a single transaction. Currently, the ticket-to-app delay frustrates some users: a purchased ticket may take a minute or longer to appear in your app. More significantly, reviews reveal that relying solely on Entur leaves gaps: some journeys still require checking a regional operator's app to confirm seat availability, seating type, or real-time accuracy, especially during complex multi-leg trips. On your computer, you can keep Entur open alongside a second app tab if needed, a workaround mobile users cannot easily manage.
Development Status and Reliability Notes
Entur - Journey Planner is in active development and not a finished product. Users report occasional bugs, such as failing to recalculate later journey legs when you select an earlier departure for an earlier segment, leaving you with unusable connections. Some users also experience notification spam or registration issues. Desktop use can mitigate some friction: you can copy details, screenshot itineraries, or leave the app running in a background window while you handle email or other prep work, reducing the pressure on Entur to be flawless in the moment.

FAQ
Does Entur - Journey Planner cover all of Norway?
The app includes regional and local transport providers across the country, though it began with broader coverage and continues adding operators. If you are in a region where a provider is not yet integrated, you may need to supplement Entur with that operator's app to confirm details.
Can I buy tickets directly in Entur?
Yes, but only for a limited set of providers. Entur is expanding ticket sales with the goal of one-click checkout across all providers on your itinerary. Until that system is complete, you may need to purchase from individual operator apps.
How accurate is the real-time delay information?
Delay tracking depends on whether each transport operator shares live data with Entur. Where available, real-time updates help you react to changes. Operators with poor reporting may show journeys as on-time when they are actually delayed, which is why some users cross-check with operator apps before traveling.
What happens if I select an earlier departure on one leg of my journey?
In some cases, the app does not automatically recalculate later legs of a multi-stop trip, potentially leaving you with very long layovers or mismatched connections. You may need to adjust times manually to fix the itinerary.
Can I use Entur - Journey Planner on Windows and Mac?
The app is primarily designed for mobile, but you can run it on a PC using an emulator, giving you a larger screen and the ability to keep it open alongside other desktop windows while you plan or track your journey.
