Do you keep your IP camera feed open while working at your desk, only to switch back to your phone whenever you need to check it? FRCAM brings IP camera monitoring to your PC, letting you watch live video alongside your other work without reaching for another device. The app simplifies camera setup by handling network configuration in the background, giving you the ability to focus on viewing and recording rather than wrestling with connection settings.
FRCAM for Windows PC lets you monitor your IP camera from a desktop or laptop, making it easier to keep an eye on your camera feed during work or everyday computer use. The app handles the technical setup giving you the ability to start watching video quickly, and it works with a range of compatible cameras including those branded for CCTV use.
Core Monitoring Capabilities
FRCAM's core features center on keeping your camera accessible from your computer:
- Live video streaming from your IP camera directly to your screen
- Two-way voice intercom if your camera hardware supports audio
- Screenshot capture to save individual frames from the feed
- Real-time recording that lets you capture footage as it happens
- Playback function to review recorded video on demand
Desktop Integration for Home Monitoring
Running FRCAM on PC changes how you monitor throughout your day. Rather than checking your phone repeatedly, your IP camera feed lives in a window on your desktop alongside email, messaging, or other applications. You can leave the app signed in on one machine, so your session stays active without needing to log back in each time you sit down. This setup works well if your camera and computer share the same network, letting you stay visually connected to your space without constant device switching.
Setup and Compatibility
FRCAM aims to work with IP cameras and CCTV equipment, including HDMiniCam IP camera desktop models and similar devices. The app aims to remove network configuration friction, though it does require your camera to be accessible on your network. To get started, you'll need your camera's login credentials and any identifiers the manufacturer provides. Some users find initial setup straightforward, while others report difficulty with account access or authentication steps, so having your camera documentation on hand is helpful.
What Happens Away From Your Desk
FRCAM's network scope is limited by design. If you're monitoring a camera that only connects over Wi-Fi on your local home network, the app will show live video and let you interact with it while you're at your desk on that same network. However, stepping outside that network (or moving to another room without Wi-Fi) cuts the connection. This means FRCAM on PC serves best as a stationary monitoring tool for your work area, rather than Novatek camera control software or a mobile remote-access solution when you're away from home.

FAQ
Will FRCAM let me watch my camera from anywhere, or just at home?
FRCAM connects to your IP camera over your local network. If your camera is set up for Wi-Fi-only access, you'll only see live video and hear audio while you're on the same network as the camera. Remote access away from home is not supported by this app.
Can I record video with FRCAM on my PC?
Yes. FRCAM supports real-time recording, giving you the ability to capture footage directly from your camera feed for desktop use. You can also play back recordings afterward through the app.
What camera brands work with FRCAM?
FRCAM is built to work with IP cameras and CCTV devices. The developer recommends it for specific camera models, and you'll need your camera's login details to connect. Check your camera's manual or the manufacturer's website to confirm compatibility before installing.
Do I need to log in every time I open FRCAM on my PC?
Once you're signed in on your computer, FRCAM should keep you logged in during that session, so you don't have to re-enter credentials each time you open the app on that machine. This makes it convenient if you monitor regularly from the same desk.
Will FRCAM drain my computer's battery?
FRCAM runs on your PC like any other application. If you're using a laptop, closing or pausing the app when you're not monitoring will reduce power use.
