Do you monitor your DVR system while working at your desk, or switch between security feeds and other windows throughout the day? iUMS brings your video surveillance feeds to a larger, more navigable display where you can keep an eye on multiple camera angles without the constraints of a phone screen. The app connects to your DVR over Wi-Fi or mobile network, letting you view live feeds and recorded footage from up to 16 cameras at a single location, or manage several locations from one interface.

Running iUMS on a PC transforms how you oversee your security system. The desktop gives you more room to arrange camera views, easier access to playback controls, and the ability to keep the app running in the background while you work. Whether you're reviewing footage on a full keyboard or monitoring live feeds alongside other applications, the expanded workspace makes security management more practical than juggling a mobile device.

Viewing Multiple Cameras and Locations

  1. Launch iUMS and connect to your DVR using your stored account credentials.
  2. Select a single camera feed to view full-screen, or arrange up to four channels in split-screen layout.
  3. Switch between portrait and landscape modes to fit your desktop workspace.
  4. Navigate to a second location account and monitor that system's cameras in the same session.
  5. Access playback archives to review recorded footage from any camera at any monitored location.

Supported Systems and Setup

iUMS works with DVR models from the N, HD, and CM series, as well as P2P devices from the NV, UH, AH, AF, and NT families. Older DVR series require Android v2.2 or later, while P2P setups need Android v4.0 or later and DVR firmware v5.0.0 or newer. Before you install iUMS for computer use, verify that your DVR hardware and firmware versions fall within these compatibility ranges: this step prevents connection failures down the road.

Live Feeds and Playback on the Desktop

The app streams live camera footage directly to your PC in real time, and the larger screen makes it easier to spot detail and movement across multiple angles. When you need to review what happened at a specific time, playback functionality lets you scrub through recorded sessions without returning to the DVR itself. On a desktop setup, having iUMS open in a persistent window means you can glance at your security status while handling other tasks (email, files, or communication tools) without minimizing or switching away.

Connection Options and Reliability

iUMS connects over Wi-Fi for systems on your local network, or via 3G data when you're using a mobile tethering link to your PC. The P2P connection mode (supported on newer hardware) improves reliability in complex network setups. Once you've signed in on your desktop machine, the app maintains that session, so you won't need to re-enter credentials every time you want to check your cameras. This persistence makes iUMS for Windows practical for all-day monitoring without repeated interruptions.

Select an Android emulator:  There are many free and paid Android emulators available for PC and MAC, few of the popular ones are Bluestacks, Andy OS, Nox, MeMu and there are more you can find from Google.

Compatibility:  Before downloading them take a look at the minimum system requirements to install the emulator on your PC.

For example,  BlueStacks requires OS: Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows XP SP3 (32-bit only), Mac OS Sierra(10.12), High Sierra (10.13) and Mojave(10.14), 2-4GB of RAM, 4GB of disk space for storing Android apps/games, updated graphics drivers.

Finally, download and install the emulator which will work well with your PC's hardware/software.

How to Download and Install iUMS for PC or MAC:

  • Open the emulator software from the start menu or desktop shortcut in your PC.
  • Associate or set up your Google account with the emulator.
  • You can either install the app from Google PlayStore inside the emulator or download iUMS APK file and open the APK file with the emulator or drag the file into the emulator window to install iUMS for PC.

You can follow above instructions to install iUMS for PC with any of the Android emulators available.

FAQ

What DVR models does iUMS support?

iUMS works with DVR series N, HD, and CM, as well as P2P devices from series NV, UH, AH, AF, and NT. Check your device manual or settings to confirm which series you own, then verify that your firmware meets the minimum version requirements before installing.

Can I view all my cameras at once on a PC?

iUMS lets you view up to 16 cameras from a single location and manage multiple locations in one app. On the desktop, you can display one full-screen feed or arrange up to four camera channels in split-screen mode, giving you flexible ways to organize your monitoring layout.

Do I need to stay connected to Wi-Fi while using iUMS on my computer?

You need an active connection to your DVR (either Wi-Fi or a data link) for live feeds and playback to work. If your PC is on the same network as your DVR, Wi-Fi is the standard approach. For remote access, you'll use your internet connection through your ISP or mobile data tether.

Will iUMS work if my DVR is an older model?

Older DVR units require Android v2.2 (Froyo) or later on the host device. P2P-enabled systems need Android v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or later, plus DVR firmware v5.0.0 as a minimum. If your hardware is very old, compatibility may be limited, so check your DVR documentation first.

Can I use iUMS to monitor different security systems at the same time?

Yes. iUMS supports managing multiple locations from one app interface. You can switch between different DVR accounts within the same session, letting you keep an eye on several properties without logging out and back in repeatedly.
