Do you need to send someone a specific meetup spot without typing out an address? Latitude lets you mark locations on a map and generate shareable links from your desktop. When you're coordinating with a friend or documenting a place for reference, the app handles location selection and link generation, leaving the sharing method up to you.
Latitude on PC reshapes how you communicate meeting points. Instead of describing directions or copying coordinates, you work directly with a map interface to pinpoint exactly where you want to meet, then share that location as a link.
How the Location-Sharing Workflow Unfolds
Here's what happens when you use Latitude on your computer:
- Launch the app and verify your internet connection and location services are enabled
- Your current position appears on the map marked with a green pointer
- Click the map to select an alternative meeting location if needed
- Access the menu from the left side using the application icon
- Latitude generates a Google Map URL that you can paste into email, text, or any messaging platform
Why Desktop Location Sharing Matters
Running Latitude for Windows PC shifts the task from your phone to a machine where you likely already have email and messaging open. You stay signed in on one computer, paste links across applications without switching devices, and maintain a clear view of the map on a larger screen. The app respects your control: you decide when to share and with whom, sending each link only when you choose.
What Latitude Delivers
The core strength of Latitude for computer use is simplicity: no accounts to manage across multiple people, no real-time tracking, no complex permissions. You select a point, generate a link, share it. The recipient opens the link in Google Maps. Latitude PC version is built for the occasional coordinator who needs a fast, private way to point someone toward a location without extra steps.
