Sharing a batch of high-resolution photos or a lengthy video file to your team or family becomes straightforward when Link Sharing runs on your desktop. On a PC, you can organize and queue files using your full keyboard and mouse, keep the app open alongside email or messaging windows, and maintain a single active session without juggling phones. Link Sharing handles original-quality transfers up to 2GB daily, eliminating the need for cables or cloud account reconfiguration for each recipient.
Link Sharing on PC version brings file distribution into your desktop workflow. Whether you're sending uncompressed photos to a design team, transferring video files to collaborators, or distributing media to a group, the app works across Windows and integrates into your existing computer setup. The core limitation (2GB per session and files stored for two days) shapes how you plan larger projects, but for everyday sharing tasks, the platform meets most needs.
How Link Sharing Handles Different File Types
The app accepts virtually all file formats: photos, videos, documents, archives, and other media. It transfers them at their original size without compression or conversion, which matters most when quality cannot be sacrificed. One exception: APK files are blocked for legal reasons. This constraint rarely affects standard desktop users unless you're distributing Android packages, but it's worth knowing upfront if your workflow involves that type of content.
Three Ways to Send and Receive Files
Link Sharing offers multiple pathways to match different sharing scenarios. You can send directly to contacts in your phone or computer address book for one-to-one or small-group transfers. You can generate a shareable link that recipients open in a browser: useful when you don't have contact details or prefer a public handoff. You can also create a code-based share, where recipients enter a short code to access files. Each method works without requiring the recipient to install software or sign up for an account.
Desktop Workflow and Session Management
Running Link Sharing on your computer lets you stay at one location without switching between devices. You sit at your desk, files are queued and sent while you work in other applications, and the transfer happens in the background. Because files remain on Samsung's servers for two days after upload, recipients have a window to download at their convenience. If you're managing a daily limit of 2GB, spacing out your sharing across the day or planning batches ahead keeps the workflow fluid.
WiFi File Transfer and Cross-Device Coordination
Link Sharing relies on internet connectivity rather than USB cables or physical proximity. WiFi file transfer makes it ideal for home networks, offices, and remote setups where devices are already online. If you switch from Send Anywhere (File Transfer) or similar services, you'll notice Link Sharing's 2GB-per-session cap and two-day retention policy differ: plan accordingly for larger projects. The trade-off is simplicity: no complex settings, no pairing codes, just send and let recipients grab files on their schedule.
How to Download and Install Link Sharing for PC or MAC:
Select an Android emulator:  There are many free and paid Android emulators available for PC and MAC, few of the popular ones are Bluestacks, Andy OS, Nox, MeMu and there are more you can find from Google.

For example,  BlueStacks requires OS: Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows XP SP3 (32-bit only), Mac OS Sierra(10.12), High Sierra (10.13) and Mojave(10.14), 2-4GB of RAM, 4GB of disk space for storing Android apps/games, updated graphics drivers.
Finally, download and install the emulator which will work well with your PC's hardware/software.
- Open the emulator software from the start menu or desktop shortcut in your PC.
- Associate or set up your Google account with the emulator.
- You can either install the app from Google PlayStore inside the emulator or download Link Sharing APK file and open the APK file with the emulator or drag the file into the emulator window to install Link Sharing for PC.

FAQ
What's the maximum file size I can transfer at once?
Individual files are capped at 1GB each. The total transfer per session cannot exceed 2GB. Files stay on the server for two days, giving recipients time to download them.
Do recipients need to install Link Sharing to get files?
No. Recipients can download files via a web link or by entering a share code in their browser. The app itself is optional; file access works without installation.
Can I use Link Sharing if I'm on a Windows PC?
Yes. The PC version, sometimes listed as Simple Sharing on the Microsoft Store, provides the same core features. You can send and manage transfers from your desktop just as you would on a mobile device.
What file types are not supported?
APK files (Android application packages) cannot be shared due to legal restrictions. All other common formats (images, video, audio, documents, archives) are supported at full quality.
How long do files stay available for download?
Files are stored on Samsung's servers for two days after upload. Recipients must download within that window; after two days, the files are automatically deleted.
