NFC Tasks bridges your NFC tag setup to your desktop by executing tasks you've already configured in NFC Tools: automation that runs when tags are scanned. Running NFC Tasks on PC lets you keep your NFC workflows active on a machine where you spend extended time, managing wireless settings, sound profiles, brightness, alarms, and app launches without reaching for your phone. The app complements NFC Tools as a separate executor, handling the permissions-heavy work of actually triggering those preconfigured actions.
NFC Tasks for Windows PC transforms static NFC tag configurations into live, persistent automation. Because the app separates task execution from tag writing, you can set up complex sequences in NFC Tools on your phone, then run them reliably on your desktop whenever you need them. This split design means fewer permission conflicts and clearer control over what runs and when.
What NFC Tasks Executes
NFC Tasks handles a broad range of system commands built into your tags. You can toggle wireless connectivity features (WiFi, hotspot, Bluetooth, mobile data, and airplane mode) or adjust audio and brightness without touching your keyboard or settings menu. The app supports alarms, timers, volume control for ringtones and media, screen rotation toggles, and direct app or tool launches. Text-to-speech output and wireless network configuration round out the toolkit. Once you've written these tasks to an NFC tag using NFC Tools, NFC Tasks on PC executes them on command, making repetitive settings changes instant.
Setting Up NFC Tasks on Your Desktop
Before using NFC Tasks on your computer, you'll need to have already configured your NFC tags in NFC Tools on a phone or compatible mobile device. NFC Tasks works only with tags prepared that way: it's the execution layer, not the authoring tool. Once you've installed NFC Tasks for computer and have preconfigured tags ready, the app becomes your automation hub at your desk. Keep it running or launch it as needed; it integrates into your daily workflow by sitting alongside other open applications, letting you trigger prepared tasks without breaking your session.
PC Benefits for Automation
Running NFC Tasks on your desktop means your configured workflows stay accessible in one consistent location. Unlike phone-based use, where you're juggling apps and notifications, the desktop version lets you maintain a single machine where your NFC automations live. You can leave the app open in a minimized state, ready to fire tasks without context-switching. Install NFC Tasks on Windows and you preserve your tag setup across sessions, making recurring automation predictable and smooth as part of your daily routine.
Pairing With NFC Tools
NFC Tasks is a companion to NFC Tools, not a replacement. You write and design tasks in NFC Tools, then deploy them through NFC Tasks. This separation letting you manage tag configuration on your phone while keeping execution logic centralized on your PC. The workflow is clean: configure once in NFC Tools, run repeatedly in NFC Tasks whenever you need those automations active. For users managing multiple NFC tags or complex task chains, where a task factory tool like Tasker App Factory handles standalone app exports, this modular approach reduces clutter and keeps each tool focused.

FAQ
Do I need NFC Tools to use NFC Tasks?
Yes. NFC Tasks executes tasks you've already written in NFC Tools. You must configure your NFC tags in NFC Tools first, then NFC Tasks reads and runs those sequences. The two apps work together. NFC Tools is the editor, NFC Tasks is the player.
Can I write new tasks directly in NFC Tasks?
No. NFC Tasks only executes preconfigured tasks. All task creation and editing happens in NFC Tools. If you want to modify an automation, you'll go back to NFC Tools to update the tag.
What permissions does NFC Tasks need on PC?
NFC Tasks requires more extensive permissions than basic NFC reading because it's triggering system changes. WiFi toggles, Bluetooth control, volume adjustments, and more. Some users have encountered permission errors on certain Android versions or configurations. If you run into access denied messages, double-check that NFC Tasks has the required permissions granted in your system settings, or consult the developer directly.
Can I use NFC Tasks tags that were configured on a phone with other devices?
NFC tags you've configured in NFC Tools should work across devices, but compatibility depends on how the task was written and what app is receiving it. Some tasks may require NFC Tasks to be installed on each device where you want them to run, and device-specific settings can affect behavior.
What should I do if NFC Tasks keeps running tasks I didn't trigger?
If the app is executing automations without your input or you're seeing unexpected behavior, uninstalling and reinstalling often resolves the issue. If problems persist, contact the developer directly for troubleshooting, as permission conflicts or background task misconfiguration can be tricky to diagnose remotely.
