| What's New | Thank you for using TalonView. This release contains performance and stability improvements. |

TalonView is a field documentation and remote collaboration platform that lets you stream live video, share HD recordings, and coordinate with subject matter experts in real time. On a desktop or laptop, you gain persistent access to your sessions, smoother photo and video uploads, and the option to keep TalonView open alongside your other work tools. The app centralizes live camera feeds, two-way communication, voice annotations, and photo tagging in one workspace: critical for teams managing field inspections, site closeouts, and remote asset review.
TalonView for Windows PC transforms how field teams and remote experts collaborate during active projects. Instead of juggling a phone screen while documenting work, the app stays TalonView open on a monitor while managing email, project files, or other applications in separate windows. A full keyboard and mouse make navigating photo galleries, assigning images to categories, and entering site details faster than touch controls alone. For users managing multiple sessions or reviewing archived data, the larger display reduces scrolling fatigue and makes it easier to spot the right image or annotation.
Core Workflow on Desktop
When you install TalonView on PC, the typical session unfolds in a structured sequence:
- Launch TalonView and authenticate with your account credentials to access your assigned projects and active sessions.
- Select a live stream or open a saved session from the centralized content management system to review prior work.
- Monitor incoming video and real-time annotations from field team members while your SME group reviews and comments.
- Upload and organize photos into their assigned categories using file dialogs and folder navigation on your desktop.
- Add voice annotations, tags, and notes to individual images or video segments without interrupting the live feed.
- Close the session, triggering automatic organization of all data in the CCMS for retrieval within 24 hours.
Live Streaming and Remote Direction
TalonView's live video capability lets a remote expert watch field conditions in real time and issue guidance without delay. On a PC, you maintain full two-way communication (voice, text annotations, and marked-up screenshots) all visible in one window. Multiple participants can join a single session, each adding their own observations and corrections to the same shared stream. The option to remotely control a field device from anywhere in the world ensures that experts can guide camera angles, zoom, or sensor focus without asking a technician to relay instructions verbatim.
Photo Management and Documentation
The app's photo workflow centers on capturing, tagging, and filing images for compliance or handover. TalonView for computer lets you import photos taken in the field and assign each one to its category (site, system type, or defect class) before uploading. HD photo capture with embedded metadata (timestamp, location, SME notes) means every image carries context without manual data entry. Once uploaded, photos persist in the CCMS, where teams can retrieve them by category, date, or session for inspection reports or archival.
Why Desktop Access Matters for Teams
Field inspectors and remote supervisors depend on TalonView to eliminate delays in approval cycles and site sign-off. On a desktop or laptop, you avoid the friction of switching between devices, re-authenticating, or managing a small screen when precision matters. A mouse pointer and keyboard shortcuts speed up finding the exact photo in a large gallery. For long inspection days, a stationary workspace with persistent login reduces connection resets and lets you focus on documentation rather than app navigation. TalonView on PC integrates into a real work environment: one where you're already sitting at a desk, managing multiple projects, and coordinating with remote teams.

FAQ
Can I use TalonView on multiple computers?
Yes. Once you log in with your account credentials on any PC, you can access your sessions, projects, and archived data from the CCMS. Logging in on a second computer does not prevent access on the first: both machines can stay connected to active sessions if your team setup requires it.
What happens to my photos and recordings after I finish a session?
All data from a session (video, photos, annotations, and voice notes) is automatically organized and stored in the CCMS within 24 hours. You can retrieve organized sessions by category, participant, or date from any device where you're logged in.
Is TalonView faster on a desktop than on a phone?
Desktop use eliminates small-screen navigation and touch-based scrolling through large photo libraries. Many users find file selection, category assignment, and upload initiation more direct with keyboard and mouse, though performance depends on your internet connection and the app's current responsiveness.
Can remote experts control my camera or device?
Yes. TalonView allows SMEs to remotely control field devices from anywhere in the world, so they can adjust camera angle, focus, or other settings without requiring a technician to make manual adjustments on-site.
Do I need a specific version of Windows?
TalonView runs on modern Windows machines. Check the version and system requirements listed on the download page to confirm compatibility with your PC's operating system.
