Will this app be your children’s favourite and their best? The BBC hopes so: Charlie and Lola: I’ve Won is its second official app for the popular duo.

Aimed at pre-schoolers, it’s available for Android, iPhone and iPad. Structured like a board game, up to four friends and/or family members can play at once.

The idea: you roll a virtual dice on-screen, and move around the board as either Charlie, Lola, Marv or Lotta. As you go, you’ll encounter a collection of C&L-themed mini-games.

It’s quite a collection too: over 50 variations according to the app store listing. “The board changes every time you play, ensuring a mix of fresh content for each new game,” it explains.

The mini-games include challenges to dance like Charlie or hop like Lola; tapping the screen as fast as possible to catch Sizzles the cat, make Charlie jump or get Lola to drink her pink milk; making noises into the device’s microphone; flying Charlie through a space maze; spelling words; playing Snap and several more.

As with other BBC children’s apps, it’s very well put together, and won’t disappoint fans of the TV show that it’s based on.
