We’ve won some kind of animal bingo game with that headline, hopefully. German apps firm Fox and Sheep is one of our favourite developers, and its latest – Pony Style Box – will certainly keep it in our affections.

Released this week for iPhone and iPad, it’s what for want of a better phrase, we’ll describe as a pony customisation app. “You can choose between 5 different ponies, make crazy haircuts like in a hair salon, dress and saddle them up, take pictures and watch their amazing animations and special effects,” explains its App Store listing.

“Let your creativity blossom! Use different colors, add accessories, hairspray, nail varnish and stickers as well as hairpins, stars, hearts and bridles. And save your most creative and amazing ponies in your very own gallery.”

We know what you’re probably thinking: is this all pink ponies and sparkles in An App For Girls? Well, actually, the artwork and animation don’t give that impression: the ponies are full of character, and there are certainly a lot more colours than pink to play with. It doesn’t feel like a gender-stereotyping app, in other words.
