Tinga Tinga Tales becomes a colourful iPhone and iPad game

We love Tinga Tinga Tales here at Apps Playground HQ, and so do our children. Aired on CBeebies here in the UK, the series takes the ‘how did animal x get y?’ structure of Rudyard Kipling’s Just So Stories, and presents them as colourful cartoons with humour and music. Now there’s an app for that.

Available for iPhone and iPad, it’s a collection of nine mini-games aimed at 3-6 year-olds published by P2 Games, which is the company behind recent apps for Postman Pat SDS and Peppa Pig.

As with the other games, there are three difficulty levels to ensure that younger children can still have fun, while older ones won’t get bored. The nine games are a good spread too, featuring all the key characters. Titles include Monkey’s Mangoes, Clever Chameleon, Snappy Croc, Bath Time and Greedy Tortoise.

(Tortoise is our favourite character).

The controls are a mixture of tapping and swiping, and should provide little barrier to even three year-olds grasping what to do and how to do it. The game currently costs £1.49 on the App Store, although that’s listed as a limited-edition promotional price, so may have gone up by the time you read this.
