Princess Poppy comes to iPhone and iPad with three stories

The Princess Poppy books have sold more than 2m copies, so there’s likely to be strong interest in the first official app based on them. Princess Poppy Picture Books is out today for iPhone and iPad.

The app includes three stories: Ballet Shoes, The Birthday and Twinkletoes. The first of those comes free with the app, but the other two are available as in-app purchases for £2.99 each.

We’re really impressed with the app, which uses animation sound and voice narration – former Eastenders actress Tamzin Outhwaite for Ballet Shoes – as well as digital colouring and sticking, an interactive map and the option to record your own voice telling the stories.

Princess Poppy is the work of publisher Random House and developer Robot Media. It costs £1.99 on the App Store, and is well worth a look.
