Bizzy Bear Builds a House on iPhone and iPad

Nosy Crow! Nosy Crow! If there’s one thing that gets us dancing round our iPad with the kids, it’s news of a new Nosy Crow app (see also: Toca Boca). Today’s reason for parental rug-cutting is Bizzy Bear Builds a House.

It’s actually the company’s second app starring Bizzy Bear, who’s the main character from several of the company’s printed books. Bizzy Bear on the Farm came out just before Christmas 2011.

This time round, Bizzy has ditched farm-life in favour of the building site. He’s building a house (you may have guessed this from the title, admittedly) with the help of a digger, a crane, a bulldozer and a cement mixer.

Aimed at 2-4 year-olds, the story is told through animation and interactivity, with Nosy Crow’s trademark voice narration provided by children, and a musical score too.

The company has also been working on its words too: they’re now highlighted as they’re read – “word tracking” – which is a great feature for children who are learning to read.

Bizzy Bear Builds a House costs £2.49 on the App Store. Bargain.
