We’re big fans of Anorak Magazine, which styles itself as “the happy mag for kids”. Published five times a year, it’s well worth picking up a copy for your children whenever you see it. Now its publishers have a new app.
Happy TV isn’t a digital version of the magazine, mind. It’s “the happy TV for kids”, taking the ethos behind the print edition and applying it to a TV show.
“It contains animated stories, documentaries, drawing sessions, games and of course, jokes - all done in our very own Anorak way,” promises the App Store listing. It looks like good fun.
Children are increasingly understanding that they can watch TV shows on iPhones and iPads as well as play apps, whether from traditional broadcasters like the BBC’s iPlayer, or from new kids-TV apps like MobiTV’s Playground TV.
Anorak’s Happy TV should pick up plenty of fans, then, although we’ll be interested to see how often new episodes are made available. The first one costs 69p on the App Store, and runs on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Here’s a video trailer for the episode:
