The thought of Yo Gabba Gabba apps brings a smile to our faces, because we’ve always had a soft spot for the children’s TV show. It’s got indie music, monsters and a lovely dash of surrealism.

Oh, and now it’s got a new app: Yo Gabba Gabba! Hello Friends! released for iPhone and iPad this week, and based around characters from the show including Brobee, Foofa, Muno, Plex and Toodee.

The App Store listing describes it as “an interactive experience designed specifically for kids” where they “chat with their favorite characters, watch Yo Gabba Gabba! clips and even play awesome games within the safety of the Hello Friends! app”.

Virtual stickers are thrown in too, with the promise of “piles of new content and new updates” to come in the future. The pretend video-chats are our favourite feature for now: something to make your kids smile as much as you do.

Yo Gabba Gabba! Hello Friends! costs £2.49 on the App Store, and runs on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
