A few months ago we published a story about how Apps Playground was growing, after this site attracted 10,664 unique visitors in August.
Now it’s time for an update on that, because things have been going pretty well. In November, 17,324 unique visitors came to Apps Playground, generating 29,945 pageviews on the site.
We were still recovering at the start of the month from an episode in October when the site plummeted down Google’s search rankings for no apparent reason, too. If December carries on where November left off, we could be as high as 25,000 unique visitors in December.
This is still relatively small beans compared to some of the bigger US children’s apps sites, and like all relatively-young sites, our challenge is to get more of those visitors coming back regularly. But we’re excited about the growth.
It’s given us the encouragement we need to put more time and effort into our content – expect more reviews, opinion, videos and chats with the best children’s apps developers – as well as starting the process of getting a proper design for the site.
2013 is going to be fun, anyway. And we’ll still be sticking to our principles: writing about apps we think you and your children will love, while calling out any famous brands we think may disappoint; never trying to charge developers for coverage; and doing our best to serve as a trustworthy filter for the ever-increasing number of children’s apps.
