It’s rare for a day to go by without us worrying about our children, but what about when they worry too? A book-app called Wince – Don’t Feed The WorryBug may be just the thing to soothe their nerves.
Released by developer iMagine Machine, it’s based on an existing (print) book by Andi Green about Wince – a character who not only worries a lot, but has a bona-fide nemesis (the WorryBug) that appears whenever he’s quibbling.
Cue a story of self-discovery for Wince, as he learns how to deal with his worries, and thus keep the WorryBug on meagre rations.
We like the message of the book, which is very applicable to real-world situations for the average child, and we also like its hand-drawn illustrations.
Wince – Don’t Feed The WorryBug costs £1.99 on the App Store – a price few parents will worry about – and runs on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. There’s also a free version if you want to sample a few pages before paying.
