Update: If you’re looking for the latest Talking Friends apps, including Tom, Angela and Ginger’s latest releases, check our Talking Friends category.
Young fans of Talking Tom Cat and Talking Ginger apps got a treat in December with the launch of Talking Angela on iPhone and iPad. Now it’s available for Android too.
Released by developer Outfit7, the app is free to download and play with on Android devices, although as on iOS, there are likely to be in-app purchases available within the app.
As on iOS, the app will get your child interacting with virtual cat Angela, stroking her and talking to her by speaking into the microphone. There’s also a text-chat feature for older children, where they can ask Angela questions and get her answers in text and voice.
The feature we think kids will enjoy most, though, is the ‘Face’ button, which switches on the device’s front-facing camera (assuming it has one) and lets them smile, yawn or poke their tongue out at Angela, and get a response accordingly.
According to Google’s stats, more than 500,000 people have already downloaded the Android version of Talking Angela, so it’s proving popular already, despite only being released this week.
Talking Angela for Android is a free download from the Google Play store. And like other Outfit7 apps, this one will also interact with any physical Talking Friends toys that you have around the house.
