Looking for good educational apps on iPad for your children? Kids Discover is a company worth keeping track of, as shown with its three latest apps released this week.
Kids Discover Antarctica, Kids Discover Galaxies and Kids Discover Washington D.C. are the apps in question, with the latter’s release coming just in time for President Barack Obama’s second inauguration over in the US.
The three apps use the same format, mixing 3D models, videos, photos, audio, animation and text to explain their subjects, along with puzzles and quizzes. All this, based on content that the company has apparently been working on for more than 20 years.
We like the design style of these apps: neat tiled index pages, lots of big images and text in friendly bite-sized chunks. The target age group is 7-12 year-olds, if you’re wondering – although younger children may get something out of the apps too, if you’re reading with them.
All three apps cost £1.99 on the App Store and are iPad-only.
