Before Christmas, we wrote about the range of Talking Friends toys, based on the Talking Tom Cat, Talking Ginger and Talking Angela characters from Outfit7’s popular app series.

At the time, we noted that the company was preparing to release a dedicated app designed to interact with these toys. It took a while, but you can now get it in the App Store.

The app is basically a collection of virtual buttons which, when pressed, make a sound that the toy will respond to – if it’s sitting nearby, of course. “Each toy reacts differently to the same button,” promises Outfit7.

The app is free, and available on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, and its Android version has been out for a little while too. You don’t need to own one of the toys to use it, although it’s obviously more fun if you do – they cost £39.25 each from the Talking Friends store though.
