Lunch preparation may not be a feature of your average children’s app (Toca Kitchen aside), but it certainly has a role in playful app Fiete.

Released by independent developer Ahoiii, it stars a cheerful sailor character, who your children have to help with a range of everyday tasks.

“Sandwiches must be buttered, tires mounted and ships loaded,” explains its App Store listing. The app is aimed at 1-3 year-olds, with the promise of no advertising, in-app purchases or web links.

There are 15 tasks to try, with lovely hand-drawn illustrations and animations. We really like it, and we think you may too.
