We’ve seen a number of apps starring pirates, dinosaurs, superheroes and aliens. Rarely one with all of the above though. 1000 Adventures is that app.

Released by developer DADA Company, it’s a colourful series of scenes starring a young boy with an active imagination.

Each scene starts in the real world, but gets your children to tap on different objects and people to change them to a fantasy scene.

For example, the scene that starts with the boy in his schoolroom. Tap on him, and he becomes a prehistoric caveboy. Tap on the teacher, and she turns into a big blue dinosaur. Tap on the wastepaper basket and it becomes a turtle etc.

Once your child finds everything tappable in the scene, it transforms into a prehistoric scene, before moving onto the next one. It’s good fun, with voice narration and music accompanying all this tapping.

1000 Adventures currently costs 69p on the App Store, and runs on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
