Animal Planet has long been a go-to TV channel for all things… animal. Broadcast around the world, it’s got plenty of young fans. Now it’s got a brand new app.
The app is Animal Planet Hide & Seek Pets, developed by Cupcake Digital. Aimed at children aged three and up, it focuses on six virtual pets, including a fish, a dog, a bird and a cat.
Children can play with the animals, but there’s also plenty of educational content, including letter tracing, puzzles, colouring and a virtual piano – all based on US Common Core State Standards.
Oh, and there’s a jazz soundtrack from musician Ben Allison. Nice.
As with an increasing number of children’s apps, there’s also a Grown-Ups Corner feature, which provides parents with some pointers to discuss the app with their child.
Animal Planet Hide & Seek Pets costs £2.49 on the App Store, and runs on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
