Parents love to share (and, yes, sometimes over-share) photos of their families. Mostly on Facebook, although Twitter, Instagram and other social networks/apps also get their fair share of kidpics.
Now Disney is getting in on the action with a new app called Story, released initially for iPhone.
Here’s the pitch: “On your phone, you have countless moments captured in photographs and videos. The Story app gathers those moments and helps you transform them into stories that are easy to personalise, save and share”
Share where? On Facebook, naturally, as well as via email and on the Story website. You can also embed your “moments” on your own blog or website, if you have one.
The target audience is clearly female. “When we become moms, our iPhone instantly becomes the go-to device to capture the spontaneous moments of family life. Before we know it, we have thousands of photos and videos on it,” said Disney’s Brooke Chaffin while launching the app.
“With Story, we’ve created a easy-to-use app that takes this content and creates meaningful narratives and stories that can be shared with friends and family with just a few taps.”
Not dads? Well, perhaps they’re more likely to clog up Instagram and Twitter, if we’re making gender generalisations. But carping aside, Story looks interesting: easy to use, nicely designed and not forcing you to only share photos on its own website.
What do you think? Story is a free download for iPhone only. We’ll keep you posted if it appears on iPad, Android or other devices in the coming months.

Unfortunately it is only available in the US
