The title gives a big clue about the content: pre-school literacy skills. Or, as they describe it: “An alphabet teaching adventure that promotes the fundamentals of reading and writing in three entertaining ways”.
The three: tracing the letters of the alphabet; playing letter-related mini-games; and playing with creative colouring pages and music videos, all based on Wubbzy and friends.
Cupcake has been working from the US Common Core State Standards to ensure the app is educationally up to scratch, and is one of the growing number of apps to use “gated” links to social networks and the App Store – meaning that they’re for use by parents rather than children.
Wubbzy’s ABC Learn & Play costs £1.49 on the App Store, and runs on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
