Turn shapes into insects with Sago Mini Bug Builder app

Sago Sago’s lovely Sago Mini Forest Flyer app kept my four year-old cheerful through a half-hour wait in the doctor’s surgery this morning, so as far as I’m concerned, they’re miracle workers.

Now Toca Boca’s toddler-focused studio has another new app to captivate kids: Sago Mini Bug Builder. The title is pretty self-explanatory: you’re making giraffes! Oh, alright, alright. Bugs.

“Watch your toddler transform a simple shape into a colorful critter with Bug Builder, a playful creativity app,” explains its App Store listing. “Give it a splash of colour, then tap to bring it to life. Add a funny hat, feed it a snack, tidy up the crumbs and snap a photo to show mom and dad.”

There are eight shapes to play with, and kids can make as many as they want. Sago Sago says the app is aimed at 2-4 year-olds, with the promise of no in-app purchases or ads for parents to worry about.

Sago Mini Bug Builder costs £0.69 for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store. Here’s a video demo:
