If you’ve read our previous posts about apps by StoryToys, you’ll know what to expect from Thumbelina, its latest 3D pop-up digital storybook for iOS and Android.

It tells Hans Christian Andersen’s familiar fairytale in two ways: partly a digital book with text and musical soundtrack, and partly pop-up scenes with mini-games for your kids to play.

On the latter front, they’ll be planting a magic bean and sprinkling it with fairy dust; helping Thumbelina escape a toad on a river; playing music to cheer her up; healing a wounded swallow and making a wedding dress, among others.

The app includes voice narration in English, French, German or Spanish, with more than 30 pages of text and nine interactive scenes to explore.

Thumbelina – 3D Interactive Pop-up Book costs £0.69 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch from Apple’s App Store, and £0.99 for Android on the Google Play Store.
