I grew up with Transformers, but as yet our two sons (aged four and six) have yet to get the bug for cars (and lorries, planes, cassette tapes…) that turn into robots. Give it time…
Or perhaps give them Transformers Prime – Story Cube, the new app from book publisher Egmont. It’s a collection of Transformers stories, plus an “interactive encyclopaedia” about the characters and their world.
The app is based on the all-new Transformers Prime TV series, with the stories told through static pictures and text, navigated through by swiping a cube at the bottom of the screen.
As your child progresses, they’ll unlock ‘Data’ on the characters, artefacts and locations in the story, which can then be read in the app’s Encyclopaedia section.
You get one story – Darkness Falls – included in the initial free download, with a second called Deus Ex Machina available as a 69p in-app purchase. More stories will presumably be added in the coming months.
Transformers Prime – Story Cube is a free download for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on Apple’s App Store, and also a free download for Android on the Google Play store.
