We remember the excitement among children (and frankly parents too) at our sons’ school when Angry Birds Star Wars was released last year. So here’s some good news: the game is now free on iPhone and iPad.
Angry Birds Star Wars is Apple’s current free game of the week on its App Store, so you can download and play the game for free. And a marvellous game it is too, with the famous birds donning Star Wars costumes to hurl themselves at the pigs in space. With lightsabers.
Bear in mind that while the game is free to download, it does use in-app purchases for extra mission and power-ups, so make sure you’re on top of your IAP restrictions settings before handing your iOS device over to a child.
Angry Birds Star Wars is a free download for iPhone (and separately for iPad) on Apple’s App Store. It’s always been free on Android, of course, while the game costs 79p for Windows Phone and free for BlackBerry.

I love getting new apps to play with my kids so I will be looking for this one soon. Some other Dads seem to think that this is a bad thing but we play our games on fishing and camping trips,so it’s not as though they are cooped up in their room playing all day long.
