Toca Boca brings its tasty Toca Kitchen app to Android

Here’s some lip-smacking news for Android-owning parents. Toca Boca released its second app for Android devices today: Toca Kitchen.

It joins Toca Hair Salon 2 on the Google Play store, as the developer continues to translate its most popular apps from Apple devices to Google-powered smartphones and tablets.

As on iOS, Toca Kitchen sees your kids cooking for four cartoon characters, who have no hesitation in showing exactly what they think of the food – for better or worse.

“Pick any ingredient and prepare it in your own way! Slice, boil, fry, cook, microwave or mix? And wait for your hungry friend´s response,” explains its Google Play listing. “Does the cat like salty fish? Would the boy eat potatoes and greens? Mix and mismatch you own meal with no high scores or time limits in this fun cooking app.”

There are 12 ingredients to cook with, no in-app purchases or third-party ads, and even the hope that playing with the app will encourage your children to try some new foods in real life. A faint or strong hope depending on your children’s tastebud adventurousness, of course.

Toca Kitchen costs £1.25 for Android on the Google Play store. We think it’s a must-have for Android parents. Here’s a video showing why:
