Apps publisher Oceanhouse Media has spent the last three years showing appy parents and children that there’s more to Dr. Seuss than cats in hats and green eggs and ham.

This week sees the launch of its 46th and final Dr. Seuss app – On Beyond Zebra! – which is well worth exploring if your children have a yen for “whimsical creatures… such as a Yuzz-a-ma-Tuzz, a Wumbus and a Glikker”.

(If they don’t, perhaps this is the app to change their minds!)

The story sees Conrad Cornelius o’Donald o’Dell looking beyond Z in the alphabet, making up letters and animals to go with them. As with previous Oceanhouse Media apps, there is word highlighting and voice narration, as well as the option to record your own voices reading the words, and share those recordings with other people who own the app.

On Beyond Zebra! costs £2.49 for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store, and £2.58 for Android devices from the Google Play store.
