We’ve not played board game Chicken Cha Cha Cha, but it sounds like a hoot: chickens racing round a meadow while training the visual memory of the kids controlling them.
Now there’s an app for that from developer TheCodingMonkeys, who adults may know for their work on another boardgame converted to mobile devices: Carcassonne.
The game sees you trying to collect feathers for your chicken, while avoiding getting them swiped by the chickens of other players. It’s designed to be easy enough to play for four year-olds and up, although we suspect the most fun will be had if parents join in too.
As parents, you can customise how difficult the game is, and also how many games your children can play before “night comes and the chickens go to bed” – a neat touch for parents wanting to ensure their kids spend some time looking at things other than touchscreens.
2-4 people can play the game’s multiplayer mode, or one player can compete against the iPad-controlled chicken to practise their skills.
Chicken Cha Cha Cha costs £2.99 for iPad on Apple’s App Store. Here’s a video demo, and there’s also some good information on the development process behind the game here.
