We’re fascinated by Disney Infinity, the new console game that throws a horde of famous Disney characters into a pot, then gets children to build worlds with them.
Now its second official app is out, and it’s the exciting one: Disney Infinity Toy Box. Released for iPad, it’s a companion app for the console version, letting players build and edit their “Toy Boxes” on the tablet, which will then be available to play with on their console.
The app has more than 60 items, including terrain, track pieces and decorations. It comes with a free character, Mr Incredible, with others available as in-app purchases, or unlockable if you buy the physical toys that go with the console game.
It’s complicated to describe – the video below may help you get to grips with it – but the main thing to understand is that if your children are playing Disney Infinity on a console, this takes the experience onto iPad too: good when you don’t want them to be hogging the TV!
We’ll be having a proper look at the app, as well as the console game and toys, in the next week or so. In the meantime, Disney Infinity Toy Box is a free download for iPad on Apple’s App Store.
