Shapes are the perfect subject for a children’s app: whether early shape-recognition or more complex geometry, these topics lend themselves well to the touchscreen.
Here’s the latest proof: Dragon Shapes: Geometry Challenge, a lovely-looking app from developer Lighthouse Learning aimed at 6-10 year-olds.
It’s a game that challenges kids to “solve math puzzles and unlock the legend of the Shape Master” over four difficulty levels, with four animals providing the structure: butterfly, turtle, mountain goat and dragon.
The app includes 50 puzzles, with one level included for free, and the rest available as a single in-app purchase for £1.99. As you can see from the video below, the production quality is excellent, with plenty of charm:
Dragon Shapes also has a gated-off parents’ area, within which you can buy the full levels. The developer also promises there are no third-party ads in the game.
Dragon Shapes: Geometry Challenge is a free download for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store. We’re looking forward to seeing what else Lighthouse Learning comes up with in the future.
