Der ner ner ner ner Inspector Gadget… That’s our childhood right there, in a flashback. But do children in 2013 still love his comical capers?
We may find out through the release of Inspector Gadget M.A.D. Grab, a new game for iPhone and iPad released to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the cartoon. Yes, we do feel old at this point.
It’s an action game starring Gadget, Chief Quimby, Penny and Brain, which involves working through levels arresting nefarious M.A.D. agents, collecting coins and upgrading gadgets including rocket skates, spring legs and the gadget copter.
(And if you’re wondering, of course that memorable theme tune is included.)
Something to be aware of: the game is free-to-play, but uses in-app purchases for its Gadget Coins system, which is what helps you upgrade the gadgets, as well as for Claw Tokens to earn items in a Dr Claw Machine.
The level of in-app purchases is relatively restrained, ranging from £0.69 to £2.99, so thankfully there’s none of the £69.99-at-a-time cheekiness we’ve seen in some children’s apps.
Inspector Gadget M.A.D. Grab is a free download for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store. And if you want that theme tune to be rattling around your head all day, be our guest…
