A growing number of children own their own tablet rather than just using their parents’ device, and it stands to reason that some of them may want cases for them. We’ve found some we really like.

They’re called Beatrix New York, and there are four of them currently being sold by John Lewis here in the UK for £29.95 each. Each features a bold, colourful character: a robot, a dinosaur, an owl and a ladybird. Each case is padded, has a velvet lining and promises to be “water resistant” – although we’d still suggest not dropping them in a bath or swimming pool!

And while we’ve said ‘iPad’ in the headline, they’re actually meant for any tablet up to 10.1 inches in size, including Android models like Samsung’s Galaxy Tabs, but also smaller 7-inch tablets like the iPad mini, Kindle Fire or Tesco Hudl.

We don’t have a commercial relationship with John Lewis or the cases’ distributor Everdell, and we haven’t been sent any freebies.
