Look, Star Wars: Tiny Death Star isn’t a game for children, as such. But we know how many mums and dads of a certain age have been instilling a love of Star Wars in their children. So…
Star Wars: Tiny Death Star. It’s a game for Android, iPhone and iPad that sees you building a Death Star for Emperor Palpatine, level by level. The game is based on a (marvellous) existing mobile game called Tiny Tower, with pixelly Stormtroopers, Ewoks and Wookiees the stars of the show.
You build different levels for the tower (sorry, Death Star) including shops, apartments and recreation areas, then ferry characters around them. Warning: it’s a freemium game, so although it’s free to download and play, there is an in-app store selling virtual ‘Imperial Bux’ currency to speed things up.
Make sure you’ve had an in-app purchases discussion with your children before letting them loose on Tiny Death Star, then. But the game is full of character and charm, and easy enough to master that we can see eight year-olds and upwards having lots of fun with it.
Star Wars: Tiny Death Star is a free download for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store, and a free download for Android from Google Play.
