We’re fans of the Kids Discover apps, which offer educational content on everything from Ancient Greece and Geography to Matter and Extreme Weather.

The latest one has just been released: Ecology by Kids Discover. The subject matter this time round is our planet, and specifically how its ecology works – a green message that’s entertaining as well as informative.

“Kids will journey from icy tundra to tropical rain forests in this interactive reading app for kids,” explains its App Store listing. “This app will help kids better understand their relationship to nature and the environment, with an in-depth investigation into the many biomes of our planet, a look at how life cycles and food webs work, and an introduction into the important role of an ecologist.

As with the previous apps, your kids can expect a mixture of text, photos, animations, videos and interactive 3D models, as well as quizzes and puzzles to make the learning bits fun. It’s aimed at “upper elementary and middle school” reading levels, which by our reckoning means 9-13-ish.
