Disney’s PIXEL’D iPad art app gets a paid Plus version

We wrote about Disney’s PIXEL’D app in July 2012 when it came out for iPad: an app that “lets you create pictures and animations based on its famous characters in glorious pixel-art style”.

It was free to download and use, but sold sets of stamps and characters as in-app purchases. Now there’s a new version with an alternative model: you pay once and get everything thrown in.

“Disney Pixel’D Plus is everything you love about Pixel’D, including expansion packs and the Pro Pack, all for one low price,” explains its App Store listing. “That’s over 500 stamps, 150 fills, photo import, advanced animation features, and a few extras.”

The app is a pretty powerful drawing and animation tool in its own right, and thus more for older children (and arty parents!) than younger Disney fans.

PIXEL’D Plus costs £1.99 for iPad on Apple’s App Store.
