Real socks, we mean. Not a new app with socks in it. Children’s app developer Toca Boca has gotten into the footwear business.
The company has launched two pairs of ‘Monster Socks’ – Nebula and Gomez. Sold from its own website, they cost $12 each, although when buying either pair, you get a second pair featuring Toca Boca’s familiar logo too.
We like the monsters too: “This is Gomez. He loves having a party in the fridge. Now he lives in the kitchen and eats whatever he likes! Gomez usually wears banana peel on his head but it was removed from the sock so that you wouldn’t fall!” explains one listing.
“Meet Nebula. She snuck in through an open kitchen window and made a total mess. She really doesn’t like broccoli but we can’t help scooping some extra on her plate, just to see her pull a face!” explains the other.
In both cases, Toca Boca clearly has playful kids in mind with the socks. “Use them as hand puppets and play around anywhere you like, or simply put them on your feet and look monstrous…”
The socks come in three sizes: 2-3 years, 4-6 years or 7-9 years. Yes, we’re thinking the same as you: WHY NO ADULT SIZES? Hopefully this will be rectified in time for Christmas 2014, if not this year!
