“Is it Christmas yet? When’s Christmas? Not yet? When is it? When are we having presents? WHEN WHEN WHEN?”

That’s our children already, and it’s only 20 November. It’ll almost be a relief when it gets to 1 December and we can start on their advent calendars, so they understand that, no, it’s not yet.

Here’s a fun app: Binny’s Advent Calendar 2013, which was released for Android, iPhone and iPad yesterday. It’s the work of Australian illustrator Binny Talib: a “magical advent calendar app to add a little bit of sparkle this Christmas”.

The app is based around a wintery street scene, with mini-games for every day of December leading up to Christmas Day. Reindeers, snowmen, Christmas trees and more.

We love the illustration style. Binny’s Advent Calendar 2013 costs £0.69 for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store, and £0.59 for Android from the Google Play store.
