Paint magical animals in the colourful Gocco Zoo app

Gocco Zoo

It’s been quite the year for magical zoos in children’s apps, with the fab Night Zookeeper drawing apps. Now Japanese developer Smart Education is joining the fun with Gocco Zoo.

It takes a similarly-creative path, with a zoo full of animals to paint and create. Kids get to feed the various creatures to instantly transform their colours, or take more time with a digital brush, stamps and patterns, then take snapshots of the finished articles.

It’s very playful, and easy to get to grips with even for preschool children, who’ll love making a menagerie of brightly-coloured beasts.

Gocco Zoo

Gocco Zoo is a free download for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store, for which you get three animals (an elephant, panda and kangaroo) and basic painting tools and colours.

If you like it, you can choose to pay a one-off in-app purchase of £1.99 to unlock more animals – a triceratops, unicorn and saber-toothed tiger – as well as more painting tools.
