Freckleface Strawberry gets new Dreamtime Playtime app

Earlier this year we wrote about the first app based on actor and author Julianne Moore’s Freckleface Strawberry books. That one got kids building monsters, but now there’s a sequel.

It’s called Freckleface Strawberry Dreamtime Playtime, and this time it comes with an educational angle, teaching early maths concepts to young children through the dreams of the books’ heroine, Freckleface.

To be specific, there are three dreams: one about freckles, one about friends and one about monsters. The first involves counting the freckles on Freckleface’s face (which is a tongue-twister if ever we heard one).

The friends dream is focused on sorting, recognising her friends, naming items of clothing and identifying their colours. Finally, the monsters dream is about matching coins to pay the monster for various items.

It’s all presented using the illustrations from the books by LeUyen Pham, which are instantly recognisable. Freckleface Strawberry Dreamtime Playtime costs £1.99 for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store.
