Saturday night is Strictly Come Dancing night for millions of TV viewers in the UK, including lots of children. Now there’s an app for the latter group.
It’s called Strictly Come Dancing Activity App, and has been released by book publisher Hodder Children’s Books, working with developer Made in Me and broadcaster the BBC.
The app doesn’t revolve around the celebrity contestants from the show, though. Instead it’s about three pupils at the fictional Strictly Dance Academy called Bella, Natalie and Sofia.
“Stick in sequinned skirts, twinkly tiaras and floaty feather boas, then watch the girls foxtrot up the red carpet and rumba down the catwalk,” explains its App Store listing, promising more than 1,200 digital stickers to customise the dancers.
Kids can colour in blank stickers to create their own designs, then print out the best ones or share them via email.
Strictly Come Dancing Activity App costs £1.99 for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store, but it does also use in-app purchases.
The app comes with one “activity pack” called Fashion Fantastic, but three more are available to buy for £1.99 each: Whirling World Tour, Glitzy Glamour and Showtime Spectacular. The buying happens behind a parental gate.
