Earlier this year we wrote about Tiggly Shapes, a set of $29.99 rubbery shapes designed to be used with three creative iPad apps. Now they’ve been joined by a festive fourth.
It’s Tiggly Christmas, and it’s available for iPad this week promising to take children “through the secular traditions of Christmas: decorating the tree, opening gifts, playing with toys, taking pictures, and sending festive postcards”.
This still involves using the shapes – although optional, they’re a big part of the app’s appeal – whether it’s to create ornaments for a virtual Christmas tree, or building toys including a rocking horse, monster doll and magic hat.
Along the way, the app reads out the names of shapes, teaching children word recognition as well as shapes. It looks fun, and hints at more plans from Tiggly to keep releasing apps to make the $29.99 shapes a worthwhile investment for parents.
Tiggly Christmas costs £0.69 for iPad on Apple’s App Store.
